Lilies – Baby Room (0–18 months)

Lilies is our calming and nurturing baby room, designed specifically for children aged 0 to 18 months. Here, we provide a gentle and responsive environment where early bonds and sensory exploration take centre stage. Our experienced and long-standing team, who have worked in this room for over two years, create a safe space for babies to thrive—supporting their physical development, early communication, and emotional wellbeing through age-appropriate resources, sensory play, and meaningful interactions.

Bluebells – Early Movers (12–18 months)

Bluebells bridges the gap between our baby unit and toddler rooms, offering a cosy, supportive space for children beginning to explore more actively. With a strong emphasis on building secure relationships and confidence, this room encourages self-expression and social interaction. Soft play, climbing equipment, and carefully selected resources support gross motor skills and independent exploration, while our attentive staff foster a sense of comfort and connection.

Buttercups – Toddler Room(18–24 months)

Buttercups is where busy toddlers begin to assert their independence and curiosity. In this stimulating environment, children are encouraged to explore at their own pace through hands-on play, early problem-solving activities, and opportunities for imaginative thinking. Poppies – Toddler Room(18–24 months)

Poppies offers a parallel space to Buttercups, specially tailored for our energetic and imaginative toddlers. With a strong focus on movement, creativity, and early independence, this vibrant room supports exploration through a range of engaging and sensory-rich experiences. Our skilled practitioners guide children as they develop self-help skills and build positive peer relationships, ensuring a smooth and confident progression through their early years.

Primroses – Explorers(24–30 months)

Primroses is designed for our emerging explorers—children aged 24 to 30 months who are eager to learn and try new things. Recently expanded to accommodate a wider range of abilities, this inclusive space promotes independence while supporting each child’s unique character. Activities focus on language development, early literacy, social play, and creative thinking, all within a welcoming environment that encourages children to follow their interests and build confidence in their abilities.

Sunflowers – Preschool Readiness(2–3 years)

Sunflowers is a lively and spacious room where children aged 2 to 3 years build on their growing independence and prepare for the transition to preschool. Our enriched continuous provision includes early school-readiness activities woven into play, such as turn-taking games, number recognition, and early mark-making. The environment inspires curiosity, creativity, and resilience—empowering children to become confident learners through playful discovery and meaningful interactions.

Daisies – Preschool Room(3–5 years)

Daisies is our dedicated preschool space, thoughtfully designed to prepare children for their next educational step. Here, learning is active, hands-on, and child-led, with an emphasis on problem-solving, collaboration, and early literacy and numeracy. Our preschool team encourages children to ask questions, explore independently, and express themselves confidently. The Daisies room nurtures a strong foundation of skills, self-belief, and a love of learning to ensure a smooth and successful transition to school.

Meet Our Senior Deputy Manager

Selina

Selina is our esteemed Senior Deputy Manager and a cornerstone of Little Learners Day Nursery, having been part of our journey since 2009. With an exceptional breadth of experience across all age groups, Selina brings a deep and intuitive understanding of early childhood development, from babies through to preschool.

Her longstanding commitment to the nursery is reflected in the consistency, care, and high standards she upholds each day. Selina’s leadership is both calm and assured, creating a reassuring presence for children, families, and staff alike. She is deeply respected for her ability to nurture strong relationships and support our team’s professional growth.

As our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Selina ensures that the well-being and protection of every child is at the heart of everything we do. She leads with diligence and integrity, maintaining a safe, secure, and nurturing environment where children can truly thrive.

Meet Our Deputy Manager

Sarah

Sarah has been with Little Learners for over 10 years and has worked across all age groups. She plays a key role in welcoming new babies and supporting families as they settle into nursery life. Sarah has extensive knowledge of all key areas of the EYFS and is also our Safeguarding Lead.

Outside Space

Outdoor play here at Little Learners is an extension of our indoor learning environment. There is no such thing as bad weather as there is always a learning moment to be seized even in the wettest of days.

Outdoor play allows our children to explore, experiment and use their imagination while developing a love and appreciation for nature.

We are also extremely lucky to have our own small growing area where children can grow their own fruit, vegetables and flowers whilst learning about sustainability and life cycles. Outdoor play is important to us at Little Learners as research suggests it improves mental health and wellbeing and improves sleep as well as developing skills that children need as they grow such as social skills, cooperation, sharing and communication.
